This unit tests under sever conditions, various aspects of EHV hardware fittings such as tensile, compression, torsion, bending, slipping, etc.
We have an elaborate vibration testing laboratory for testing effects of vibration on insulator strings, spacers, dampers and conductors, for up to 100 meters and up to 10-bundle conductor configurations. Other equipment includes electrodynamic shakers of LDS, UK make; analysers of B&K, Denmark make; and vibration analysis software.
The unit consists of spectrometers for chemical analysis, grain size and inclusion rating apparatus, microscope, and advanced equipment for zinc coating tests, etc.
This unit consists of magnetic power loss, AC/DC resistance, Heating cycle test equipment of 6000 amps capacity, etc.
This unit tests for determining tensile, elongation, conductivity, shore hardness, heat aging and ozone aging on the synthetic rubber components.
Complete infrastructure exists for testing of HT Bolts & Nuts of 8.8 grade
